“The woman, born 1965, who had no prior convictions and worked as a senior state tax officer of the debt settlement department, from February 9, 2004, to December 29, 2015, committed embezzlement of budget funds on a massive scale,” an official representative of the Oktyabrsky regional court told PenzaNews.

He explained that the woman occasionally added false information to the electronic database of the tax office regarding her and her relatives, who were unaware of her criminal intentions, stating that they have grounds for tax refund.

“After that, she formed an illegal electronic document to transfer budget funds to bank accounts of these persons – on average from 7,500 to 80,000 rubles in each case – and directed the document to the department of federal treasury of the Penza region. After the transfer, which was made several times a month, to different accounts, the accused used the embezzled money on her own,” the interlocutor said.

The court representative specified that the criminal case was considered according to the special procedure; besides, the accused partly compensated the caused property loss, and the claim of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in the Penza region was answered to the full extent.

“The accused was arrested in the court room. The sentence did not come into effect yet,” he summed up.
