Fraudster posing as Sberbank worker swindles pensioner out of 30,000 rubles near Penza

Penza, 18 December 2016. PenzaNews. A telephone fraudster who introduced himself as a worker of the Sberbank financial department swindled a 62-year-old pensioner who lives in Kolyshleysky area of the Penza region out of money. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The office explained that the swindler called the woman’s mobile phone and convinced her of the necessity to carry out a number of actions at the ATM in order to unlock the card.

“Following the stranger’s instructions she transferred 30,000 rubles to two mobile accounts,” the police specified.

The press service added that the investigation upon the fraud started.
