Kuznetsk, 14 January 2017. PenzaNews. The criminal case against a 25-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan who was accused of the attempt to bribe the Traffic Police officer in Kuznetsk of the Penza region was sent to the court for examining the merits of the case.

"On December 4, 2016, the accused man, sitting in the car of the officer of the traffic police of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, put two 1,000 rubles banknotes in his passport and gave it to the inspector in order to prevent further investigation on his immigration law violation and bringing him to the police office," the senior assistant of the head of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova told PenzaNews.

She clarified that the inspector did not take the bribe, returned the passport with the money to the accused and warned him about the criminal liability for official bribery.

"The accused gave the passport with two 1,000 rubles banknotes to the inspector again and the officer of the Traffic Police reported the case to the police office of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Russia in Kuznetsk," the interlocutor added.
