Penza, 14 January 2017. PenzaNews. A 23 year-old resident of Penza is suspected of intended bodily harm to his mother, who was taken to hospital with a knife wound.

"The injured explained that her son stabbed her with a knife at home. The suspect was detained by police at the scene of the incident. The man, who had been held criminally liable before, did not work anywhere and was fully dependent on his mother,"the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told PenzaNews.

The office said that according to the suspect, he and his mother celebrated a holiday and drank alcohol.

"The relatives quarreled and the man left home. When he returned in the evening, he demanded money from his mother. The woman said that she had no money. After that, the young man took a knife and gave the victim a stab in the chest area. The woman started to lose consciousness and asked his son to call an ambulance. The arrived doctors provided medical aid to the injured and took her to hospital," the police office explained.

The office specified that the criminal case was opened on the fact of deliberate infliction of bodily harm.

"The penal part of the article presupposes imprisonment for the term of up to 10 years. At present, the selected measure of restriction for the accused is imprisonment," the press service summarized.
