Penza, 2 February 2017. PenzaNews. A punishment by way of 3.5 years of imprisonment was imposed on a man who was found guilty by court of committing three thefts, five hijackings and one attempted hijacking in the territory of Penza and the village Zarechny.

"It was established that in the evening on August, 2015, the man stole a Larsen bicycle from a staircase of the building in Pushanina street in Penza. On April 1, 2016, at about 2.00 he hijacked a VAZ-21063 car from Prospekt Pobedy street, on April 12 he hijacked a VAZ-2107 car from the 1st Onezhsky proezd," the official representative of the Penza area court said.

He specified that on May 9, the man tried to hijack a VAZ-2107 car but was caught by a witness at the scene of the crime.

"On the same day, in 4th Ternovskogo proezd he hijacked a VAZ-21063 car; on May 10, in Tokarnaya street – a VAZ-21053 car; on May 11, in Prospekt Pobedy street – a VAZ-2106 car. On May 27, the man stole a Stinger Shuttle bicycle from a staircase of the building in Natali Lavrovoi street in the village Zasechny, and on May 27, he stole two bicycles from a house in Semeynaya street," the interlocutor added.

According to him, the aggravating circumstance was the fact that the man committed the thefts in the state of alcoholic intoxication.

"The court also exacted the compensation of 12,486 rubles in favour of one of the victims," the court representative summed up.
