Penza, 5 February 2017. PenzaNews. A 61-year-old resident of Penza lost 150,000 rubles trying to rent a half of the room.

"The woman posted an advertisement about the search for a tenant on the website Avito.ru. After some time, an unknown woman called her and said that she wanted to rent a half of the room. Under the pretext of transferring prepayment, the woman asked the pensioner to access an ATM," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region told PenzaNews.

The department specified that following the instructions the pensioner transferred money to the card details provided by the woman.

"A criminal case was opened on the fact of fraud. Police officers take measures to identify the persons involved in the crime," the department added.
