Penza, 20 February 2017. PenzaNews. The fact of opening a criminal case on forgery against the Penza vice-mayor on social politics and development of local self-government Vladimir Popkov became known on Monday, February 20. This was reported by the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.

According to the mass medium, the ground for the criminal case opening were the materials of the prosecutor's investigation, which established that as the result of the actions of the deputy head of the Penza administration, the vice governor Valery Savin illegally received a plot of land worth 1.6 million rubles.

Currently, Vladimir Popkov is on medical leave.

The mayor's office does not give any comments on the criminal case.
