Penza, 25 February 2017. PenzaNews. A 37-year-old Penza resident became a victim of fraud when trying to buy a metal detector through the Internet.

"The woman came across a notice about sale of a metal detector on the website Avito.ru, called the provided phone number and agreed with a stranger about transferring a prepayment," the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews.

The department added that the victim transferred 10,000 rubles to the provided bank account but did not receive the metal detector.

"Investigation is conducted on this fact. Police officers take measures in order to identify the persons involved in the crime," the press service said.
