Penza, 20 March 2017. PenzaNews. Penza police officers arrested a 20-year-old resident of Penza who tried to sell over 100 SIM-cards without drawing up services contracts.

As it was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the activities of the young man were stopped as a result of a joint raid conducted by workers of the "K" department and representatives of the regional department of the Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications.

"He explained that he bought the SIM-cards earlier and tried to earn money by selling them," the press service noted.

The police added that an administrative protocol was drawn up against the man, moreover, the case materials were submitted to the Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications.

"According to requirements of the regional legislation, it is forbidden to unauthorized persons to sell SIM-cards out of official sales centres without drawing up contracts with residents, though it is possible to come across respective advertisements on the Internet," the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

The police stated that measures aimed at suppression of similar crimes will be continued, and a special attention is planned to be given to identifying and holding liable SIM-card suppliers who work in mobile companies.
