Criminal case opened on fact of sexual abuse of 14-year-old girl in train "Moscow-Penza"

Penza, 24 April 2017. PenzaNews. The Volga investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia responsible for transportation services opened a criminal case under the Part 1, Art. 135 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Sexual abuse" on the fact of the incident that happened in the train "Moscow-Penza". The crime was committed against an underage passenger.

"According to the investigation, on the night of Friday, April 21, the suspect being in the state of alcoholic intoxication waited for the moment when the 14-year-old girl was left unattended by her parents and subjected her to sexual abuse without violence in a second-class sleeping carriage of train No. 94 'Moscow-Penza'," senior assistant to the head of the Transport Investigative Department of the Volga Federal District Dmitry Zakharov informed PenzaNews.

He added that the victim managed to escape from the criminal and to tell her parents what happened. The adults reported the case to law-enforcement authorities that accompanied the train.

"The suspect – a 50-year-old resident of the Penza region who had been found criminally liable before – was immediately arrested and sent to investigators where the he confessed to the crime and repented," the interlocutor said.

Dmitry Zakharov noted that at present the department carries out a complex of investigative actions and operative events aimed at establishing all circumstances of the incident.
