Penza, 4 May 2017. PenzaNews. According to the results of a complex of operative actions conducted by the regional department of the Federal Security Service, the first division for the investigation of high-level corruption cases of the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Penza region opened a criminal case against the deputy chairman of the Penza City Duma of the 6th convocation, the member of the "United Russia" faction Georgy Tyurin under the Part 3, Art.30, and Part 6, Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian federation – a bribe-taking attempt by an official on an especially large scale.

"According to investigators, occupying the position of the deputy chairman of the Penza City Duma,under the terms of receiving 25 million rubles, the suspectguaranteed a positive solution of the issue of providing the permission to deviate from the allowed building and reconstruction limits of an object of major construction. Within the framework of the agreement, in November 2016, the suspect received from the entrepreneur 1 million rubles," the senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations Lyudmila Fomina told PenzaNews on Thursday, May 4.

At the same time, according to her, as the other part of the bribe the suspect suggested granting him the right of ownership of non-residential premises in the stated building with the area of 1,420 square metres valued at over 24 million rubles.

"The agreement of sale and purchase for the specified premises was drawn up for the suspect's son for further use for commercial purposes," the interlocutor said.

Lyudmila Fomina also specified that at present the department conducts a search at the place of the suspect's residence and in the Penza administration, confiscates objects and documents that are relevant to the criminal case investigation.

"In the near future, investigators will decide the issues of his arrest and choose the level of restriction.

As it was reported before, the member of the "United Russia" faction, the deputy of electoral district No. 23 Georgy Tyurin as well as 13 other deputies were caught in providing false information about their income in 2015. At the same time, Georgy Tyurin was the only deputy who was punished: he was reprimanded.

Nearly a month after the City Duma session, where it was decided to "take note" of the submission of the public prosecutor of the Leninsky area of Penza EvgenyZudikhin for the early termination of 14 deputies' powers, Andrei Sakmaev, Sergei Sedov and Boris Dryakinannounced early abdication of responsibilities.

On April 26, at the 33rd regular meeting of the City Duma their requests were satisfied. Other 11 deputies who made errors in the declarations for the year 2015, including the deputy chairman Georgy Tyurin, retained their mandates.
