Penza, 9 June 2017. PenzaNews. A young man from Penza was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in a penal colony of high-security regime after he killed his friend, whose body was discovered on a waste ground next to the building in Novo-Ternovskaya street in Zasechny in winter 2017.

"In the evening on February 26, 2017, after drinking alcohol in the flat where the convict was carrying out repairs, both the man and the victim went to a public transport stop. During the way, the men began to quarrel because of personal enmity. As a result, the criminal, who was carrying a hammer, hit his friend on the head and fled the scene of the crime stealing a mobile phone of the victim," the senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations Lyudmila Fomina told PenzaNews.

She specified that the injured man died at the scene of the crime.

"The verdict did not come into effect yet," the interlocutor noted.
