Penza, 6 August 2017. PenzaNews. A 57-year-old resident of the Mokshany area of the Penza region fell victim to fraud believing that one of restaurants is ready to buy honey of his production on the Internet.

"An unknown called him and introduced himself as a restaurant's manager. The criminal said that the organization intended to buy the honey. Under the pretext of prepayment transfer he asked the interlocutor to name details of his bank card as well as confirmation codes, which the man would receive on the phone," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region told PenzaNews.

The department added that the man followed all instructions of the unknown and later discovered that 14,000 rubles had been withdrawn from his account.

"Investigation on this fact is conducted. Police officers take measures in order to identify the persons involved in the crime," the press service said.
