Penza, 20 August 2017. PenzaNews. A 60-year-old resident of Penza became a victim of fraud trying to sell a garage on the Internet.

"He placed an advertisement on the Avito.ru website. After a while, an unknown called him and said that he wanted to buy the property. Under the pretext of transferring the prepayment he asked for the man's bank card details," the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation told PenzaNews.

The department noted that after the man provided the requested information he found out that 34,000 roubles were withdrawn from the card.

"A criminal case was opened on the fact of fraud. Police officers take measures to identify persons involved in the crime," the department added.
