Source: Veniamin Bochkarev suspected of fraud

Penza, 24 October 2017. PenzaNews. Veniamin Bochkarev, nephew of the former governor Vasily Bochkarev and ex-head of the Penza Region Mortgage Lending Agency, who has recently been arrested by workers of the regional department of the Federal Security Service of Russia, is suspected of fraud. This was reported by a source close to the government who asked to remain anonymous. What is at issue is Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Swindling" – in particular, the part that deals with serious fraud. In this connection, Veniamin Bochkarev was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service on October 23," the interlocutor said.

He reminded that the sanction of the article provides for a punishment by means of imprisonment for up to 10 years or a fine of up to 1 million roubles.
Previously another source had told PenzaNews that Veniamin Bochkarev's detention was connected with theft of budgetary funds when constructing the housing estate "Chistye Prudy" in the Mokshan area, which was built within the programme "Housing for Russian Family".
Until now, no official comments from the law enforcement authorities have been received.
