About 2,000 litres of alcohol withdrawn from illegal trade near Penza

Penza, 13 November 2017. PenzaNews. About 2,000 litres of counterfeit alcohol were confiscated in a garage of a village of the Penzensky area of the Penza region. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"We received operational information that a resident of one of the villages was involved in storage of and trade in illegal alcohol products. The police were authorized to carry out a search as a result of which they discovered 1,920 litres of alcohol containing products stored in 5-litre bottles in a garage that belonged to relatives of the suspect," the department explained.

The press service added that the police had also discovered 136 bottles of different market-ready alcohol that had forged federal special marks, caps-dispensers and self-stick labels.

"The police confiscated the products and sent its specimen for examination to identify whether the product contains substances dangerous to person's health and life," the department explained.

The department noted that a criminal case was opened on the fact of use of forged federal special marks.

"At the moment the police is taking measures to identify all persons involved in the illegal activities," the MIA department said.
