Penza, 13 December 2017. PenzaNews. A criminal proceeding on the grounds of the offence under Part 3, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud" was instituted against the former vice-governor of the Penza region Valery Savin with assistance of the Investigative Committee and the department of the Federal Security Service of Russia. This was reported by Tatyana Makhnitskaya, senior assistant of the head of the regional investigative department for media relations under the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"According to the investigation, Valery Savin is suspected of receiving the right over alien property under false pretences. This property is a land plot worth 460,000 roubles, which is located in a settlement in Penza in the territory of a horticultural co-operative. As a result of the illegal actions, the municipality, that is the city of Penza, suffered a damage on a large scale," the interlocutor said.

She added that investigation aimed at establishing circumstances of the crime and consolidating the evidence base were carried out at that moment.
