Penza, 20 December 2017. PenzaNews. Businessman Alexander Makarenko, who was found guilty by court for illegal felling of 129 pines in the Shemysheysky area of the Penza region, will have to serve a suspended prison sentence for the term of 2 years with a probation period of 2 years. This was reported by the senior assistant of the head of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova.

According to her, the entrepreneur cut trees outside the area allocated for logging in 2015 with the terms of execution of the government contract in October 2016.
"The damage to the state forest resources amounted to 844,498 roubles," the interlocutor specified.
Svetlana Artamonova noted that the verdict had come into legal force.
"Within the framework of the criminal case, the court satisfied the claim of the state public institution Shemysheyskoe Forestry against the defendant for the damage caused to the forest fund. In order to ensure fund reimbursement, the property owned by the individual entrepreneur was seized," she added.
