A native of Penza tried to transfer a large batch of drugs to penal colony No. 8 during a long visit to her husband, who is serving a sentence for extortion and robbery, but her actions were suppressed. This was reported by the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Penza region.

The department explained that it was a service dog that helped to detect prohibited substances packed in 13 parcels and hidden in two juice packets.

"Later it was found out that the confiscated packets included synthetic drugs some of which contained heroin," the press service said.

The department added that by that moment it had managed to establish persons involved in the organization of the delivery of the drugs into the territory of the colony.
