Penza, 17 January 2018. PenzaNews. A 55-year-old resident of Penza who believed in skills of a person with extrasensory perception she learned about from a TV ad became a victim of fraud.

"On cable television she saw an advertisement about services of the psychic. The woman called the indicated phone number and explained that she needed help in cancer treatment for her daughter," the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told PenzaNews.

The department added that after that an unknown man called back and suggested transferring 22,600 roubles for the services.

The police noted that the woman followed the instructions of the strangers but did not receive the desired result.

"A criminal case under Part 2, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 'Swindling' was opened on the fact," the press service said.
