Penza, 15 April 2018. PenzaNews. Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated in connection with the theft of 5 km of rails in Penza for an offence under Part 3, Art. 33, Part 3, Art. 30, and Part 4, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Swindling" was completed. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"In 2017, when taking active search measures, police agents of the economic security and anti-corruption department of the Penza transportation specialized department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia revealed a criminal group that had committed a theft of a large consignment of rails," she explained.

According to Irina Volk, during the investigation it was established that in the period from December 2016 to June 2017 having created documental unaccounted surplus a group of workers of a railway enterprise stole 100 tons of rails in the amount of over 1 million roubles and then brought it to scrap metal receiving point.

"To date, a charge was brought against all members of the group, the criminal case was sent to court," she explained.
