Three young citizens of Ukraine convicted of theft escaped from colony-settlement No. 12 located in the village of Sosnovka of the Bessonovsky area of the Penza region. This was reported by the senior assistant of the head of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova.

"According to the information received by the regional prosecutor's office, on June 9 at about 21.00 the management of the colony discovered the escape of three convicts. Three Ukrainian citizens born in the Lugansk region in 1994 and 1995 escaped from the detention facility, where they had served a punishment for committing thefts. Two of them are twin brothers. To date, their whereabouts have not been established," she explained.

Svetlana Artamonova added that the prosecutor's office was checking the compliance with the operating requirements of prison administration.
