Penza, 6 August 2018. PenzaNews. A 45-year-old woman lost 1,300,000 roubles becoming a victim of a fraud when buying a flat in a new building in Pushkina street in Penza. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"She saw an advertisement for the sale of the real estate on the Internet and via a mobile phone application she wrote to the seller that she would like to buy it. The woman agreed with the stranger on the deal. The criminal said that it was necessary to provide documentary proof of her funds," the department explained.

The press service noted that the woman had opened a bank account in her name and sent the unknown man photos of statements on cash transactions containing information on personal data and control codes.

"Two days later she discovered that a transaction withdrawing an amount of 1,300,000 roubles from her account had been conducted. Investigation on the fact of theft was organized. Police officers take measures to identify persons involved in the crime," the department added.
