Penza, 20 November 2018. PenzaNews. The number of crimes committed in the territory of the Penza region in 10 months of 2018 reached 10,744, which is 9.9% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by senior assistant of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova.

"There is increase in the number of serious crimes by 50.5%, up to 1,841, and crimes of average severity – by 34.8%, or up to 2,380," the interlocutor of the agency explained.

She added that the number of crimes that caused major or significant damage had increased by more than 18% — to 1,632.

According to the senior assistant of the prosecutor, there is also increase in crimes in the field of trafficking of drugs and illicit substances — up to 988 cases (+2.8%), as well as weapons — up to 144 cases (+5.1%).
