Penza resident to work 200 hours for slander against his wife's boss

Penza, 20 February 2019. PenzaNews. A Penza resident, found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4, Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Slander", was sentenced to a penalty of 200 hours of mandatory work. This was reported by senior assistant of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova.

"Court hearing established that in July 2018, the man had used his personal computer at the workplace to deliberately distribute false information about his wife's boss, who he had had hostile relationships with, in a community on a social network. He wrote the man was infected with HIV and accompanied the post with photos of the man," the interlocutor explained.
She specified that during consideration of the criminal case in court the man had admitted guilt in full.
"The verdict has not entered into legal force," Svetlana Artamonova added.
