Great Britain grants political asylum to fugitive businessman Alexei Shmatko

Penza, 10 April 2019. PenzaNews. The migration chamber of the Supreme Tribunal of the UK has decided to grant political asylum for 5 years to Alexei Shmatko, Penza businessman accused of fraud, who fled from Russian justice abroad.

"It was not easy, but we have managed," Alexei Shmatko wrote on his Facebook profile, commenting on the decision.

He regarded the fact of granting him asylum as a victory.
