Penza, 7 June 2019. PenzaNews. A resident of Penza, born 1963 transferred almost 1.5 million roubles to a fraudster having fallen for a trick involving compensation for medicine.

"He received a call from a man who introduced himself as a counsellor of justice. He said that the Penza resident could receive compensation for previously purchased medicine in the amount of 580,000 roubles. For this purpose it was allegedly required to pay a tax," the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews.

The department specified that within a month the man had transferred money in the amount of 1,453,000 roubles to various accounts.

"Investigation on the fact is conducted," the department added.
