Criminal case against 72-year-old man opened in Penza region

Penza, 24 June 2019. PenzaNews. A 72-year-old resident of the village of Dubrovka of the Tamalinsky area of the Penza region is suspected of committing a crime under Item "c", Part 1, Art. 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal procurement (catching) of aquatic biological resources".

According to senior assistant of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova, in the course of pre-investigation check it was established that on May 30 the man had caught fish with nets during spawning.
"By doing so, he caused damage to water biological resources in the amount of more than 19,000 roubles," the interlocutor of the agency said.
She noted that the fisherman had been noticed by a tenant of the pond, who called the police.
The investigation of the criminal case is under control of the prosecutor's office of the Tamalinsky area. Part 1 of Art. 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for punishment up to imprisonment for up to two years.
