Penza, 28 October 2019. PenzaNews. The damage caused to the hunting fund by illegal hunting of two elks – male and female – in Zemetchinsky area of Penza region amounted to RUB 640,000. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"The police are checking on this fact to see if a criminal case has been initiated," the department explained.

The ministry added that the identity of the alleged perpetrators had been established.

The press service noted that if the fault of poachers was proven, they would have to compensate for the damage caused.
