Penza, 8 November 2019. PenzaNews. A 58-year-old resident of Issinsky area of Penza region will stand trial on charges of committing a crime under Item "d", Part 2, Art. 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Torture".

"As it was established during the investigation, from August to September 2019, a man had beaten up his 86-year-old mother living with him three times. He used insignificant reasons that arose on household-based grounds," senior assistant of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova told PenzaNews.

She noted that in July of that year, the man had already been convicted for similar acts and that the court had given him a suspended prison sentence.
