Penza, 11 January 2020. PenzaNews. A 38-year-old resident of Penza became a victim of telephone fraud, believing in the possibility of receiving compensation of 420,000 roubles for previously purchased medicines.

According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Penza region, the woman was misled by an intruder posing as an employee of the Investigative Committee, who convinced her to make several transfers in order to get the money.

"During the week, following instructions of the stranger, the woman transferred various amounts of money to individuals for a total of 244,000 roubles," the police explained.

The press service added that a criminal case had been opened on the fact of fraud.
