Penza, 15 August 2020. PenzaNews. A resident of Penza lost 120 000 roubles, falling for the trick of a telephone fraudster who introduced herself as a bank security officer.

PenzaNews was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Penza region that the malefactor had warned the victim about an alleged attempt to steal money from her card, offered to block the operation and name the details, as well as the secret code.

“The woman did so. Also, on the instructions of the bank's false employee she downloaded a certain programme. Shortly afterwards, she received notifications of purchases she had not made,” the police explained.

The department added that investigation on the fact of fraud was conducted.
