Penza, 1 October 2020. PenzaNews. A 63-year-old resident of Penza lost 265 000 roubles falling for trick of telephone fraudster.

As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Penza region told PenzaNews, the malefactor, who introduced herself as a security officer of the bank, told the pensioner that someone else had issued a loan in the woman's name, so she allegedly needed to take a loan herself and transfer the money to “safe” accounts.

“The pensioner believed the words of the stranger, although she later confessed to the police that she knew about such methods of deception. She issued a loan in a bank branch and transferred the received 265 000 roubles to four mobile phone numbers,” the department said.

The police explained that a check had been organized on the fact of fraud.
