Near Penza, man transfers 835 000 roubles to telephone fraudster
Penza, 24 October 2020. PenzaNews. The police began investigation into a telephone fraud, the victim of which was a 26-year-old resident of Bessonovsky area of Penza region, who transferred 835 000 roubles to a stranger.

“According to the man, he received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself as a security officer of the bank and said that some people were trying to apply for a loan in the name of the client. To prevent withdrawal of funds, the caller offered to name the codes that would come in SMS. The man, unaware of the fraud, did so. Besides, in order to preserve the savings, the malefactor asked the man to transfer money to a ‘safe’ account. He transferred 835 000 thousand roubles to the account through an ATM,” the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Penza region told PenzaNews.
The department added that the man caught by the attacker's trick had been aware of such methods of deception.
