Penza, 1 November 2020. PenzaNews. A 53-year-old resident of Penza lost a large amount of money, falling for a trick of a man, with whom she began communication on a dating site. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“The interlocutor suggested that she take out a loan in her own name and subsequently transfer the funds to him at a higher interest rate. The woman did not immediately agree,” the police said.

The department added that over time, the attacker convinced the resident of Penza that there was a real possibility of obtaining benefits.

“The woman transferred at least 440 000 roubles to various accounts. After that, the unknown person stopped communicating,” the press service said.

The department specified that a criminal case had been initiated on the fact under Part 3, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud", and measures were taken to identify the person involved in the crime.
