Penza, 9 December 2020. PenzaNews. A resident of the village of Pashkovo, Zemetchinsky area, Penza region, lost more than 770 000 roubles, falling for the trick of a telephone fraudster.

“According to the woman, she received a call from a stranger who offered her additional earnings for typing texts. He then persuaded her to open a brokerage account and receive dividends, for which the woman had to set up a certain programme. Having followed the intruder's instructions, the woman learned that a loan had been taken out in her name and over 770 000 roubles had been withdrawn from her bank card account,” the press service of the Penza regional department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews.

The department added that a criminal case on that fact was initiated under paragraphs “d” and “c”, part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”.
