A criminal case under Part 1, Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft” was initiated in Penza after a local resident withdrew money at an ATM transferred to his card by mistake. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

“A resident of the village of Zasechnoe, born in 1997, turned to the Penzensky area police department. The woman said she had mistakenly transferred about 21 000 roubles to a bank card. The owner of this bank card cashed out the funds at an ATM in Penza, thereby committing theft. Criminal investigators identified the man. He turned out to be a local resident born in 1976, who had a previous criminal record,” the press release said.

It adds that the man made a confession.
