Official accused of attempted bribe-giving to vice-governor in Penza region

Penza, 18 December 2021. PenzaNews. The investigation charged an employee of the Kamensky area administration with attempted bribe-giving in the amount of 3 million rubles to the vice-governor of the Penza region. This is stated in a message of the press service of the regional investigation department under the Investigative Committee of Russia.

“According to the investigation, on 16 December 2021, the accused, being an employee of the Kamensky area administration, personally gave the vice-governor of the Penza region a bribe in the amount of 3 million roubles for committing deliberately illegal actions: assisting her in the victory in the competition for the position of head of Kamensky area administration, announced in early December 2021. The vice-governor refused to receive illegal remuneration, the woman’s illegal actions were suppressed by officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Penza region,” the press release says.
It specifies that the funds were seized during the inspection of the scene.
The criminal case was initiated on the basis of materials from the FSB of Russia in the Penza region, the report says.
“During the interrogation, the accused admitted her guilt in committing the incriminated act,” the text adds.
It explains that a set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime and consolidating the evidence base are currently being carried out.
