Penza, 5 January 2022. PenzaNews. A resident of Zarechny town in the Penza region became a victim of a fraudulent online purchase of coal. This is stated in the message of the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

According to the message, the man agreed on the purchase and delivery of coal during the telephone conversation, after which he transferred more than 42 thousand roubles to the bank account of an unknown person, but never received the goods.

“After money transfer the scammer ceased to contact, and the citizen realized that he had been deceived,” the press release says.

It adds that a criminal case under Part 2, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud” was initiated on the fact.
