Penza, 31 May 2011. PenzaNews. The theatre festival "Maskerad" will be held in the Penza Regional Drama Theater named after A.V. Lunacharsky in 2014. The art director of the theater Sergey Kazakov informed that the festival would coincide with the 200th anniversary of M.J .Lermontov's birthday and it would include different genres.

During the press conference on Tuesday, May, 21, the art director said: "Not only drama theaters, but also musical ones will present their works".

He noticed that the author of one of the most well-known and ambiguous statements Lermontov's "Masquerad" was also the very well-known townsman Vsevolod Mejerhold.

Sergey Kazakov said: "We will try to connect Lermontov's classics with Mejerhold's avant-guard, an original combination of usual and something new". He added that there were an urgent objective necessity to have the own theatrer festival in Penza.
