Penza, 13 October 2011. PenzaNews. The first session of organizing committee on preparation for celebrating of 200-year-old anniversary from Michael Lermontov’s date of birth has taken place in Moscow on October, 12th. Participants have discussed the plan of the basic actions of a celebration.

The representative of the press-service of the plenipotentiary of the president of the Russian Federation in the Volga federal district said: "Anniversary of Michael Lermontov's birth will be celebrated in 2014. The center of celebration will be Lermontov's memorial estate "Tarkhany" in the Penza region".

He noticed that this anniversary is a very important cultural event not only for Volga federal district but also for the Russian Federation.

According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation №674 of May, 24th, 2011, the organizing committee on preparation and carrying out the celebrations was formed and the plan of the main actions has already been worked out and confirmed.
