Penza, 11 November 2011. PenzaNews. Repair-restoration works of the attic of the mansion come to the end in state Lermontov memorial estate "Tarhany" in the Penza region. The walls of the attic were warmed, covering of them were replaced, thermal protection of the overhanging lower edge of the attic roof and the house ground floor was improved.

Major repairs of water release and dam of Barsky pond come to the end.

According to the source of the memorial estate, when the water was drained, a number of old oak piles which held coast were found out near the dam during the works on strengthening of pond coastal line.

According to the oldest employee of the museum, the writer and specialist of local lore Peter Frolov, these piles can be contemporaries of Michael Lermontov’s grandfather— Michael Arsenyev as the cascade of ponds were created that time.

The source of the museum said: “Besides, site improvements of the second museum complex including Michael Archistrategos church and a chapel-tomb of the Arsenevs-Lermontovs are carried out. New parking for excursion buses was made”.
