Penza, 28 November 2011. PenzaNews. The festival-contest “Fashion Yard — 2011” was held at the Palace of Children and Youth Art in Penza on November, 26-27.

According to the organizer, director of “Fashion theatre” Olga Bukina, the Grand Prix wasn’t awarded this year.

She said: “The level of the festival-contest “Fashion Yard” is so high that teams have to make a big effort to be best”.

The festival organizer added that the recipient of the Grand Prix is determined not by a vote of judges, but on stage, so the result is always unpredictable.

The interlocutor said: “The jury write down the winner's name on cards. If more than three out of five votes are given for one team, it will get the title of the best. Unfortunately, it did not happen“.

According to Olga Bukina, Penza studio “Artist-designer” managed to take first place in the nomination “Handstitched theater”.

"The team “Fashion-Art” from Izhevsk which won the Grand Prix of 2010 was the strongest in the category “Show view” this year. “Art-freak” from Naberezhnye Chelny became “The best children's fashion theater”. Fashion theatre “Coquette” from the Ryazan region was the best among adults in nomination “Theater of Fashion”. Elena Saitova representing fashion theater “Reflection” from Naberezhnye Chelny became the best in the category “Designers”.

Answering to a question that featured festival of 2011 from the previous ones, Olga Bukina said that it was the level of participants.

She said: “This year there were no weak teams. There was noticeable high level of work”.

The second difference of "Fashion Yard" held in 2011, the organizer called the contest “Tattoo on the mannequin” in which participants were using needles to create clothes on mannequins that are installed on the stage, using materials, they saw immediately before the start.

Olga Bukina said: “Participants and members of the jury liked the competition very much. The next year we will definitely organize the show again, perhaps adding a master class”.

The third innovation of the contest organizer called the suits protection that allowed the jury to know how the idea of establishing an image was appeared, what was the technology and to make sure that children did the suits, but not a leader of the fashion theater.

Olga Bukina said: “It could be argued that the festival-contest “Fashion Yard — 2011” is developing and becoming better with each passing year”.

The festival-contest “Fashion Yard” has been held in Penza since 2003. The teams of fashion theaters, modeling agencies, schools and studios of fashion hairdressing, associations and studio of art, design and crafts take part in it.

The main objectives are to identify actions and support talented and children, creating conditions for realization of creative projects, as well as to enhance young people's interest to “fashion theater” and various aspects of design creativity.

In 2011, the “Fashion Yard” was held under the auspices of the international festival movement “Hope of Europe”, International Association of fashion theatres, beauty pageants, talent and grace “Empire of Fashion” and the public welfare fund “Helios”.
