Penza, 14 December 2011. PenzaNews. The collection of State Lermontov memorial estate “Tarhany” in the Penza region was enriched with more than 140 household things of the 19th century. Olga Zhavoronkova from Moscow transferred them to the museum. There is a French pack of playing cards, a set of cleared goose feathers in “native” packing, sealing wax for closing the letters, also in “native” box, a casket for storage of cut-aways, bottles of perfume, books and many other things.

Nadezhda Ulyanova, the main keeper of the museum said: “Almost all subjects are rare samples of Lermontov time”.
She said that all these things belonged to the Sheremetevs which were in distant relationship with the Stolypins. Michael Lermontov's grandmother, the owner of the estate in Tarhany belonged to Stolypin family.
She said: “Olga Zhavoronkova is Boris Borisovich Sheremetev’s grand daughter. All transferred household thins are used in the exhibitions and in museum expositions”.
