Penza, 7 February 2012. PenzaNews. The festival of amateur performances of veterans’ art collectives of the Penza region organized by the regional office of the Pensioners’ Union of Russia is opening in Penza on February 10.

“Local offices of the Pensioners’ Union of Russia in the Penza region, veterans’ art collectives and representatives of other public organizations of the region are invited to participate in the project,” the press service of the regional government told news agency PenzaNews.

According to Ekaterina Bannova, chair of the governing board of the Penza office of the Pensioners’ Union of Russia, this festival will foster the consolidation of the veterans’ movement of the region and promote interest in veterans’ amateur performances among residents of the region.

She added that the festival is devoted to the 110th anniversary of People’s Actress of the USSR Lyubov Orlova.
