Penza becomes "Library Capital 2013"

Penza, 30 March 2012. PenzaNews. The government of the Penza region supported the offer of the Russian library association about All-Russia library congress in May 2013, that is XVIII annual conferences of RLA and announcement Penza as "Library Capital of 2013". The director of regional library named after M.Y. Lermontov Marina Osipova reported about during the meeting of legislative authorities association of administrations of Volga Federal District on Friday, March 30.

The head of cultural institution made an excursion for guests in the building which was commissioned in December, 2011.
"The new building of the library has a sophisticated shape; its height is from 3 to 12 floors. Its total area is 24 thousand sq. m. Cost of the project is 1 64 954 thousand rubles which were allocated from the federal and regional budgets," she told.
Marina Osipova noted that building of the object allowed to create cultural infrastructure in the biggest residential district of the regional center.
"It’s not only the library, but it is also a multipurpose, informational, social, educational and leisure complex," she emphasized.
