Penza, 25 June 2012. PenzaNews. Penza Theatre for Young Spectators and art-folk band Stranniki (The Wanderers) participated in the second international festival of epic culture “Epic of the Peoples of the World Visiting Kalevala” in Petrozavodsk and were awarded the diploma “For great contribution to preservation and development of national culture.”

As the press service of Culture Department of Penza told news agency “PenzaNews,” the teams presented ethnic performance “Tale of Penza Bogatyr and Burumbay” based on the legends of the nationalities living in the Penza region.

“The music during the play is performed live on authentic folk instruments with modern electronic sound processing, and the theatrical performance is of ritual nature,” said the press service.
