“There are very few painters working in this style, so it will be a great help for our art school students, as well as for mature artists of Penza,” the director of the gallery said.

The member of the Association, a 1962 graduate of Penza Art College Nikolai Zaytsev underlined that the works of the authors-members of the Association completely lack negativity inherent in modern art trends.

“We try to preserve the tradition of a good and happy attitude to the man, commenced by the masters of the XIX century,” Nikolai Zaytsev pointed out.

The guests of the ceremony were greeted and thanked for their presence by Yuri Gerasimov, the chairman of the Association of Russian Artists.

“We came to Penza in the year of the 120th anniversary of the local art gallery and would like to make a specific gift, not material, but spiritual. Therefore, it was agreed with “Literaturnaya Gazeta” (Moscow newspaper), which published an article about Penza two days ago, that this edition will be distributed among the visitors of the gallery for free,” Yuri Gerasimov said.

According the director of the gallery Valery Sazonov, in a month Penza will be the place of another not less important exhibition of other metropolitan artists.
