Penza, 24 December 2012. PenzaNews. Artistic director of Penza Drama Theater named after A. Lunacharsky Sergei Kazakov and a representative of the Russian Cultural Centre in Hungary Natalia Agoch in a joint statement expressed the hope that the tour taken on December 20–23 by the Drama Theatre in Budapest will be the beginning of long and fruitful cultural ties between the Penza region and the Republic of Hungary.

As the head of literary dramatic department of the theater Vitaly Sokolov commented in an interview with news agency “PenzaNews,” a trip to Hungary became a revival of cultural ties between this country and Penza, which actively developed in 1970–1980’s.

“During those years, Hungarian directors delivered such performances as “The teacher (Flora Toot)” and “Cyrano de Bergerac,” the agency interlocutor noted.

Vitaly Sokolov pointed that during the tour in Hungary, the artists performed “The History of a Crime” and four Christmas shows for children with the tale “Birthday of Leopold the Cat.”
