Penza, 1 January 2013. PenzaNews. In 2013 Penza Drama Theater named after A. Lunacharsky prepares many premieres. This was stated by the art director of the theater Sergey Kazakov in an interview with news agency “PenzaNews.”

“In 2013, we will celebrate double anniversary: the 350th anniversary of Penza and the 220th anniversary of the Drama Theater, so we plan a lot of interesting things. I will not unlock all the secrets but believe me, we need to prepare for great and interesting work and you, dear theater-goers should get ready for new experiences,” said Sergey Kazakov.

He noted that 2012 was for Drama Theater “truly creative and remarkably rich” year: there were a lot of premieres; the troupe participated in festivals and tours.

“In 2012 we discovered new pieces, one of which is The History of a Crime written for Penza theater by a famous playwright Olga Mikhailova. We met with new and familiar directors, communicated with the most prominent theater critics of the country. We worked in creative laboratories of modern drama, travelled to Israel and Hungary again. This year the experimental site “Under the circle” was opened,” the artistic director said.

Besides, Sergey Kazakov wished the spectators to come to the theater with joy.

“The theater, as it is known, begins with a hanger, and we want to see you beautiful, cheerful, with an open heart,” Sergey Kazakov added.
